Matchday #15 : Azzuri finally lose after two years

A really stunning, tremendous evening last Sunday, seeing the defending four time champion Azzuri lose for the first time after two years to Cemac in Group C Matchday #15 clash. Azzuri, which labelled as the strongest team in USL lastly defeated by Galacticos before, in Utp Soccer League 2009 season and Cemac which has lose to Azzuri last season, came for their revenge and win by 2-1. As predicted, the match provided plenty of attacking action and very good performance from both teams. The game started with high tempo played by both team, which witnesses some of goal attempts by both teams as after the kickoff. Azzuri , however, being the first off to the flyers after nice passing movement played by Ahmed Mohamed , Ibrahim Badi and Leder Gunther which giving overlapping Ibrahim Badi to releasing a strike in penalty box, but the shot deflected by Afa Mahfouz for an own goal. Azzuri got a few chances later to extend the lead but Tebogo Matjeke half volley in front of goal saved by the goalkeeper and another shot from him blocked by Ala Mahfouz just inches from goal line. Being down by one goal, Cemac strengthen their attack, generated by ex-Azzuri player Meserep Nasir to find the equaliser. Cemac finally get the golden opportunity after Meserep Nasir was tackled in penalty box by Azzuri defender Ruslan Yapa which seeing referree giving penalty to Cemac. Mario Makako completed the task, beating Decha Bueraheng for Cemac equaliser. The score remain until half time. After the break, both team seemed pretty balanced in controlling the game and get some chances to gain the lead. The deadlock finally break after Cemac 's Celso well struck effort after receiving superb through pass from midfield hitting the back of the net, giving Cemac the winning goal. Stunned by the goal , Azzuri try to bounce back and the get some opportunity to score but all wasted. The game being pretty tense after players from both team Ahmad Makine and Abdulloh Madthing, receiving red card for violent behaviour. Just before the final whistle blown, great back to back attacking action displayed, started by Azzuri's Hasan Osman head from Ahmed freekick goes wide and Cemac counter attack after that giving Messi a chance to shot, but his shot also goes wide. Cesar wasted very great opportunity for Cemac has a free shot in the six yard box, but Decha Bueraheng doing a very good job with fantastic save to deflected the ball away. Azzuri has another chance after that but Hassan shot well read by the keeper while Messi also has the chance on the other side of the pitch but his shot way over. Leder Gunther ended the back to back shot after his shot from long range hit the crossbar and final whistle blown, ended two years Azzuri invicible record. Final Score : Cemac 2-1 Azzuri

Onitsuka Tigers complete their group matches by a winning over Zephyrs last evening in Matchday#14 Group A fixtures. On the route, Onitsuka has been in one draw, one lose and two winning to put them in the second place of group A, the slot to the quarter. However, the standing might changes if Diao can grab a win againts Facebook this Friday with three goal margin that will lift them to the second place, unless Onitsuka will go to the quarter alongside Facebook. In the game agains Zephyrs, the game has a real attacking tempo, with five goals score total. Zephyrs, which has not grab any point yet, off to the flyers when Zubair Khalid strike after receiving a nice through ball from Shafiq Che Muda give them a lead. Stunned by the goal, Onitsuka Tigers put more attacking play, and they equalise few minute later as Muaz Azhari heading a freekick from captain Ashraf Redha beating Zephyrs goalkeeper Sathia Seelan for the both team levelled 1-1. Not satisfied with the draw,Onitsuka strengthen their attack and got another goal after Farhan Hafizuddin long shot beating the keeper but the ball hit the crossbar and rebound directly to Muaz Azhari before he release a strike for his personal second goal of the game. The scoreline hovewer, not lasting for long, as Zephyrs got a penalty kick after Syafiq Che Muda was fouled by Onitsuka player in penalty box, and Azri Khairuddin calmly put the ball at the back of the net beating Onitsuka goalkeeper Al Hafiz Ibrahim. The score remain until halftime whistle. After half time, both team played very well, trying to be in front but most the opportunity wasted. Onitsuka finally got their winning goal after Abu Yazid Zainuddin shot in the penalty box separating both side, and 3-2 score remain until final whistle.

Chancito going through a glorious winning this season, after winning all the match group and keep the clean sheet record in four match. Chancito complete their group match by beating Borneo in Matchday #14 to lead Group B standing with complete 12 points. As they confirmed the place in quarter final, Chancito rested some of their first team player but the quality of the performance almost the same as they manage to win the game without conceded. The game however, seemed pretty balanced with lot of attacking movement shown by both team. Chancito goals come when Faiz Aizat netting a goal after chaos in front of Borneo goal after a corner. Chancito also got a golden chances to extend their lead when Zaid Ali cross being intercepted by Faiz Aizat at the near post but the ball go to the other side of the post and Hafizi Ramlee heading a few minute later save by the goalkeeper. Borneo also has the great oppotunity to level the score Harold Usang being in the position of one-on-one with the goalkeeper, Nor Hakim but his shot well save by the keeper to deflect it. Borneo has the other opportunity when Rozairee Jahir freekick well headed by Johnny Kujin but it goes wide and Augustine Lenan freekick goed directly to the keeper. Zaid Ali again bring attention to the game when his shot from long range hitting the woodwork and Borneo's Dewistiel Jamel has the chances to equalise but his strike well save by the keeper. Goliath finally get a point in their third game, when they were hold draw by Mecherz in Matchday #13 Group B clash. Mecherz, that also has been hold draw by Borneo in the last match, tried to compete with Borneo and Blackhawk in the race for second slot to quater final after Chancito confirmed their place last week. The game started a bit in slower tempo, which not many goal opportunity created. Mecherz got a leading goal after Syazwan Rashid shot blocked by the keeper and rebound directly to Syed Sadiq, giving him chances to blast the ball directly to the back of the net for the score 1-0. However, the scoreline not last any longer, as Goliath put some attacking play to get the equaliser and the chances finally come when the chaos in front of Mecherz goal and Uzair Aslam try to lob the keeper and it ended by Ahmed Tilayev to finish the ball on the goal line. The score remain same until half time. In the second half, the tempo has been high with lot of movement down the flank, but no goal chances produced. Mecherz's Syazwan Rashid once take the attention when he got into one-on-one position with the keeper, but his shot well read by the keeper to denied it. Goliath also got the chances to score but the opportunity had by Uzair Aslam wasted as his shot goes high above the post. Serius ended their group match, after one win, two draw, and a lose to Croconile last Friday in Macthday #13 Group D clash. Croconile on the other side, put another win and leading Group D standing with seven point leaving Serius in 2nd place with five points. They game seemed pretty balanced for both side, with lot of attacking play, but no creativity and cutting edges to create more goals. Croconile get some opportunity to score goal, but the attacking role lead by Mohamed Ayoub and Abdel Aziz failed to make chances paid. They also got some freekick that kind of dangerous and had chances for goal. Serius also, has lot of chances to score, but good performances from Croconile goalkeeper Farid Fawzy denied bunch of shot from Serius attacker prevent the sides from having a goal, until half time. Croconile finally hit the deadlock, as Murad Annaev powerful long range shot from a freekick goes straight to the goal, not giving a chances for Azrul Hayat to put a hand over the ball before it hitting the net for the score 1-0. After, two consecutive win against Goliath and Mecherz, Chancito again put a powerful display and grab a winning to make them lead Group B with 9 points. Both team started the game with some attacking tempo, manage to make some shot but all waste. Blackhawk get a chance once to lead the game, as freekick from Eijaz Zainuddin nearly go the back of the net, but being save by Chancito goalkeeper Faza Rahimi. Chancito also got several chances, usually by the movement of two top striker Fikri Osman and Iqhwan Alimi and supported Syahiruddin Khirrul Anuar. Zephyrs however, not letting Facebook qualified with much easy as they lead for two time before Facebook comeback and win the game. Zephyrs lead with 1-0 after Muhammad Farith Fauzi score the opening goal of the game in the earlier minute. Stunned by the goal, Facebook hunt for the equaliser and Elyas Ali Yazak being the next on the scoresheet after scoring Facebook equalising goal to make the two side level. Zephyrs get the chance to be in the front again when the get a penalty kick, and Zubair Khalid calmly put the ball into the back of the next beating Facebook goalkeeper Nizam Karim for Zephyrs second goal. As the game being much interesting, Facebook player Arfaishah Arih put the two side level again, when he score the goal after a chaos in front of Zephyrs goal. The score remain until halftime. In the second half, Facebook seems to be stronger with more attacking movement generated by winger Syahid Hanan and Ahmad Fitri. Kaiser started to roars as early in the match as a shoot by Ahmad Safwan in first two minute just inches from the post. Kaiser off to the flyers five minute later as winger, Farhan Aziz scored a goal as his curling corner kick goes wildly to Rasta goal and tricked Rasta goalkeeper for the first goal of the game. Stunned by the goal, Rasta try to pull back the score and make some movement toward opposite goal, and Satiskumar Arumugam shot just hit the woodwork. Two free kick from Kalidasan Palanisammy also nearly give the equaliser but the shot just over the crossbar. The score remain until the end of first half. As second half started, Ahmad Safwan again nbeing the real threat for Rasta as his shoot from outside of the box goes straight to the goal, beating Rasta goalkeeper for Kaiser second goal. Rasta got their own tempo as Hariharlall Vibhagharan scored a goal, but the goal was denied by referee as he claimed Hariharlall Vibhagharan is offside. Rasta finally got the goal five minute later, after misunderstanding between Kaiser defender give an great opportunity for Hariharlall Vibhagharan to score Rasta first goal. Rasta got their golden opportunity to grab at least a point as they get a penalty in the final minute of the game. Kaiser goalkeeper, Hilmi Abd Aziz being the hero of the day as he wisely predicting the penalty taken by Rasta player, to save their full three point of the game and the whistle blown for full time.

Both teams started the match with a quick tempo, but not much dangerous move displayed. They keep to play safe by controlling possesion and make some move to the opposite goal. A brace from Diao striker, Amin Fahim nearly give Diao a lead when he get some chances in front of East Coast goal but all wasted. East Coast also put the same display with several movement from Helmi Hamzah, Harith Faaezsal, and Muhammad Amin keep Diao defender and goalkeeper Zamri Ismail busy. East Coast finally get a real chance to lead when Asyraf Zainal foul on East Coast player, give them a penalty. Saifulizmin Mustapha calmly taking the penalty that tricked Muhammad Zamri for East Coast goal. Shocked by the penalty, Diao try to pull back and striker Zulfadhli Zarawi nearly give Diao equaliser when his long powerful strike from outside of the box being save by the goalkeeper.Zulfadhli Zarawi being real threat for opposition defender with several dangerous movement in front East Coast goal, but luck is not with him. A good perfomance from East Coast defender, Fakhruddin Sarudin being the thick wall defending his goal Diao player.Diao player, Hafizuddin Adha that came as substitute before the game end, was too late to change the game and score remain same until final whistle. A tremendous match between Goliath and Borneo in Group B clash that resulting goal glut with seven goals scored totally. The match that that full of attacking movement put Goliah to be a real challenger after losing in their first game. Goliath player, Azuan Satar firstly put his name in scoresheer after scoring a finishing cross by mastermind Zulfakhri 'Dewo' Zakaria in front of goal. Shocked by the goal Borneo hunt the equaliser and it came easily after mistake from Goliath defender give Mohd Hazman great chance beating Goliath goalkeeper Khairul Faiqri. Borneo continue to strengten their position and lead for the first time after freekick from Augustine Lenan give them second goal and he got another chance after that but his shot just inches past the post. A foul from Fakhruz Razi in penalty box make the referee giving penalty to Goliath, and Mohd Azuan calmly put the goal for their equaliser. The score not last for a long time when Borneo get their strike when Harold Usang scored their third goal after mistake from Goliath goalkeeper. Goliath trying to find another equaliser and their effort paid off when substitute Kamarul Azrin scored an incisive shot from six yard box. At the final minute when the match seems to end with draw, an awful mistake from Khairul Faiqri when catching Gilberh Johnson shot from center of the pitch make give Borneo three points and put Goliath cried aside. Both team looked very impresive with lot of attacking movement to the final third and keep both defenders busy to stop the movement. Facebook start the goal hunting with their movement of two strikers, Fatimie Irzaq and Muhammad Khouna as Fatimie cross from left flank well intercepted by Khouna, but his shot to far over the bar. Stunned by the move, Onitsuka Tigers also make a very nice move toward Facebook goal, but shot from Abu Yazid Zainuddin well saved by Facebook goalkeeper Badarolzaman Ramli. Onitsuka finally hitting the net as cross from Onitsuka Sollehin Nordin into the six yard box, well intercepted by Taufiq Roslan diving header from the far post, beating Facebook goalkeeper for Onitsuka Tigers lead. A goal down not affected Facebook game, as they playing more attacking moves in the hunting for equaliser by several dangerous shot to Onitsuka goal. A curling freekick from Facebook captain, Salmi Othman nearly give them the equaliser, but Onitsuka did a great save to push the ball from goal. The equaliser they waiting for finally come when a corner kick for Facebook make a chaos in penalty box and Facebook Elyas Ali Yasak pass the ball to Mohamad Khouna before he put a places shot into the left side of the goal beating Onitsuka goalkeeper Hafiz Ibrahim. Onitsuka Tigers also got the chance to gain the lead again whem fluke shot from outside of the box almost get Facebook goalkeeper beat but the ball just hitting the bar. Facebook get a penalty when a cross from Muhammad Khouna hit Onitsuka defender hand, and Elyas Ali Yasak taking the penalty calmly to beat Hafiz Ibrahim for Facebook winning goal. Facebook got another chance to extend their lead, as freekick from Hatta Amran hit the post. Croconile 1 - 1 Zain

Last season semi-finalist, Croconile make debut for 2011 season with a draw Zain, in Mathday #7 action last Wednesday. As early on the match, both teams look pretty balance in controlling the possession and make some move toward the final third. Zain attacker, Ahmed Fathelrahman being the first to break the deadlock as he get one-on-one against Croconile goalkeeper Farid Fawzy and Fathelrahman calmly placed the shot to the back of the net for Zain lead. Croconile also make some chances toward Zain goal but there were no goal produced until the halftime. Croconile get the leveler just after the halftime as freekick taken by Croconile's Haytham Fayek to the penalty box cause a little chaos, make the Zain goalkeeper on the ground and Mohamed Ayoub finished the ball on the open goal for 1-1 score. The search for a lead continues on each teams as some attacking movement creating a goal chances as Mohamed Ayoub shot just inches from the post and Mohamed Abdelhamed try save by the goalkeeper. Croconile get the best chances to lead as Haytham Fayek freekick hit the bar, and the ball ended up at Croconile player foot before he blast a shot but the shot deflected the defender and goes straight to post and Zain goalkeeper did a good job to save the ball that just in front of Croconile Mostafa Zakzouk. Matchday #6 : Diao trails a comeback victory from falling one behind

Zephyrs 1 - 2 Diao

Diao showed the real poacher effect on a comeback victory over Zephyrs on Matchday #6 clash as Zephyrs lead by Hilmi Razani strike before Wan Muhammad Faris equaliser and Asyraf Zainal winning goal seal three point for Diao to climb up Group A standing. Zephyrs firstly hit the attack button , as Hilmi Razani nearly give them a flyers with a long range free kick hit the post. The woodwork again being Hilmi Razali enemy as his strike from outside of the box again hit the post, keep Diao goal saved. Stunned by the attack, Diao make some move toward Zephyrs goal generated by midfielder Syazwan Azrie give some chance to create a goal. Diao striker, Firdaus Azmy nearly give Diao a lead but his shot going straight to the goal. Zul Irfan also got a chance as the winger got a free shot but the shot goes wide. Zephyrs break the deadlock as Hilmi Razali being the real threat for Diao when he snubbed a cross from Zubair Khalid into the back of the net to give a 1-0 lead for Zephyrs. Unlucky to fall behind, Diao strengten their attack, moving the ball forward in order to equalise, and their ultimate chance came when they were given penalty foul Zephyrs foul, but the penalty taken by Firdaus Azmy was too high over the post. The score remain until halftime. Halftime team talks surely do something to Diao, as they seem more aggresive in the second half, keeping up the possesion and pressuring the final third of the pitch. The equaliser finally came, as Wan Muhammad Faris put a good performance to dribble down the penalty box, beating three defender before give a well struck shot beating Zephyrs goalkeeper Sathia Steelan for Diao first goal. The momentum created from the goal continued, as Wan Muhammad Faris cross few minute later well intercepted by Asyraf Zainal in front of the goal, and he netting the ball with a powerful strike for Diao second goal. A Leder Gunther brace helped Azzuri swat aside Halluuu to give the title holder another three point to lead Group C in Matchday #6 clash last Sunday. Gunther get in the scoresheet twice, while teammate Hassan Osman Abdallah and Izzat Radzi complete the 4-0 win. Azzuri - chasing for the title five time in a row, started the brighter with some attack on earlier minute. Azzuri off to a flyer when Gunther headed in a cross in front of the goal beating Halluu goalkeeper for the first goal. A mistake by Halluuu player give a chance to Azzuri extend the league, as they were given penalty kick and Azzuri striker Hassan Osman Abdallah calmly finished the job for his third goal on Utp League 2011 season. Azzuri hold on the ball possesion and keep control of the game, manage to add up their goal but none of that struck the back of the net. The score remain until halftime. Azzuri put the third goal after the half time with substitute 'Izzat Radzi 'Prof ' strike from outside of the box goes wildly to the goal beating the goalkeeper for another wonderful goal from Azzuri. There were no need to guess who complete the route as the man Gunther, again in the score sheet after his chip ball past through the goalkeeper and hit the post, before it bounce back to Gunther and he finish it for the fourth goal. An own goal from Mecherz's Halim Nurdin in Matchday #5 action give three points to Chancito, leading teams in Group B Utp Soccer League 2011. Chancito, keeping up the good form for their second win after beating Goliath in previous week and the debutant Mecherz was unable to stop the run. Chancito started fiercely, with several attacking movement, keep Mecherz defensive side busy to stop the attackers lead by last week hatrick scorer, Fikri Osman. Mecherz also put some fight back as their attacker severally test the opposition goalkeeper but none of that change the scoresheet. The score remain until the halftime whistle. After the break, Chancito look more dangerous with their control of ball possesion and keep advancing the ball in the final third, and manage to make some dangerous shot to the opposition goalkeeper, but Abi Aiman great performance keep denying the ball between the two bars. With his crucial saves on the shot by Iqhwan Alimi, Ismail Nasir, Fikri Osman others Chancito players, the perfomance shown by Abi Aiman on the match, as one of the best goalkeeper performance in UTPSL so far I can say.
